Deep Diving

a poem by April Lemieux

This forested silence.
As heady and rich
as the days of tree forts
and skin that smelled
of earth and sunshine.
Scattered words the seeds
that I gathered one by one.
Sheltered within my pocket.
Awaiting the time.
The time of planting.
The time of diving deep.
