She had the spirit of an explorer;
that’s what led her to the water’s edge,
where this world ends and another begins.
She wanted to be one with the horizon,
that ethereal place
where land, sea, and sky are one.
Insatiable was her lust to learn
the mysteries of the heavens.
A craving for the freedom
only a celestial body could know.
She longed to be where the sun would set;
where the moon would greet the night.
No looking back.
The time was right.
Rain playfully tickled her toes
as she held her umbrella to the sky.
Her heart made a wish
on a summer raindrop
and she was gone.
