The Ballad of the Lemon

The ballad of the lemon

(Small poem on chromatic prohibitions)

(Yellow sun-blinding yellow-yellow yellow)

If you eat lemons will not have your period

If you eat lemons you will not have satisfactions

If you brush your hair while you have “those” things

You block them for sure

(Yellow-green-yellow-yellow acid)

If They come when you are a little one

You stay short, dark, you remain a young lady

If they come when you are great of age

No children for you, but you’ll be a giant.

(Yellow white- yellow gray- yellow)

High and alone and very different

No breastfeeding bartes and turmoil

You will be like a man

Little chair outside the home

Here is your risk

(Dark yellow-yellow -only yellow)

If you eat lemons nothing is beyond you

If you eat lemons your teeth will be crooked  ohimmé1

If you eat lemons tall and flat  poor you

If you eat lemons ohimmé1

(Yellow water-green Yellow-yellow light blue)

If you shower with menstruation

You will skip a month swollen and in deprivation

Otherwise bright and white

Too much white too much different, always tired

(Yellow solitude – yellow anathema)

You’ll skip. a month and then two

For those sangu di limoni2

or for that water on  the body that smells of lemons

Poveratt’ei sangu di quei limoni3

(Yellow future-black yellow – dark Yellow)

If you eat lemons

Ever clearer your weak skin

If you eat lemons you will not have your menstruation

If you eat lemons you will not have satisfactions

(Yellow fear -choral yellow-yellow indigo)

That sad destiny

Sour acid pain yellow my, piccinna mia4

Do not eat lemons and follow our way

Poveratt’ei in ce’ ccosa sei incappata5

That sad destiny, Why did you run away?

I have planted lemons in every house

I have planted lemons in every new house

I was fertile in my own way

Colors and words are not like your progeny.

I am as high as a tree

Flat as a leaf

White as albedo

Ohimmé******what good is albedo!

I am Different like every fruit

I have eat the yellow the black the ugly

No pinches no lemons

Because of this I was and I am: marammei , nu limoni.7
